Every council ward in Brisbane will receive a mobile security camera to improve public safety if Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner is re-elected, he has pledged.
Less than two weeks from the Brisbane council elections on March 16, Schrinner has promised to increase surveillance by installing 26 mobile security cameras across the city.
"As someone who was born in Brisbane, I have never seen a crime problem like we have today," Schrinner said.
There are currently more than 3000 surveillance cameras across the council network.
The Lord Mayor is pledging to add more 26 new mobile cameras, one for every ward in the council.
Schrinner said the increased surveillance would "help local councillors respond to safety concerns in their community".
